WELCOME
Greetings from the Far Western Region’s lovely Long Beach Chapter!
2012 marks the five year anniversary of the re-establishment of the Long Beach Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. On that accomplishment, I extend a well-deserved “Congratulations” to the dynamic group of mothers who have made this chapter an activity-filled, family oriented success! What began as a simple desire to revive a dormant branch of an esteemed national organization, has blossomed into one of the premier children’s organizations in our community.
As part of the “Fabulous Far West Region” our chapter is constantly challenged to meet the high expectations set by our regional team, and national office, to provide our children with cultural, civic, and educational experiences that will not only enhance their lives, but enrich us as parents as well. Long Beach Chapter has met that challenge, and continues to do so in our programming and fundraising efforts geared toward benefitting our own children, and those of the entire Long Beach community.
This past year our emphasis turned toward “focusing on fitness!” As such, our youngsters enjoyed not only the fun, but the healthy benefits of participating in such activities as: the March of Dimes 5K Walk, healthy cooking classes, and the Long Beach Memorial Family Bike ride. Continuing our fundraising goals, we once again hosted our signature “Handbags for Hope” event at The Grand. As a result of our efforts (and our supporters), this year our chapter delivered scholarships to local high students headed to USC, Long Beach State, UC Irvine, and other competitive college campuses!
Words cannot express the privilege and joy I have experienced, leading this phenomenal group! Consider this your personal invitation to get to know us, (perhaps even join us!): The “Lovely Ladies of Jack & Jill, Long Beach Chapter.”
